Dennerle plant type: broad-leaved rosette Plant color: greenish-red, red coloration of young leaves Additional: CO₂ supply required, additional fertilization recommended, strong lighting Description: This plant is a cross between Echinodorus Barthii , Echinodorus horemanii red and Echinodorus grisebachii Parviflorus ^[1]. Very beautiful red-leaved Echinodorus, inner leaves rust to maroon. Forms a compact rosette of reddish-brown leaves, lighter along the central vein, resembling the skin of a brown bear. Juvenile (young) leaves have a distinct ruby-red hue, the saturation of which decreases with time. The plant grows up to 20 cm tall and has a diameter of 15-25 cm Echinodorus Little Bear prefers humus-rich, nutrient-rich soil and bright light. Even in good conditions it grows much slower than many other Echinodorus. The chemical parameters of the water have no significant effect on the plant: it develops equally well in soft and hard water with a pH of 6-8. Particularly attractive Echinodorus Small Bear looks like a single plant that stands out in color against the background of the aquarium greenery. Echinodorus Small Bear is unpretentious, propagating easily vegetatively with flowering shoots on which daughter plants form^[2].
